The method
used all depends on the type paint you are
using. In most cases it is the method you
would use to clean your brushes, for
example;
Oil
Based Paint: Dab the stencil
lightly with
a cloth soaked in turpentine.
Water
Based Paint (acrylic, latex):
Soak in warm water.
Quick Drying Paint: Wipe with a
cloth soaked in mineral spirits.
It is also
recommended that while using stencil to wipe
off excess paint build up, paint left to dry
will not come off completely.
Which ever
method you choose to clean your stencils; be
very careful not to bend the cut out areas.
